This was the starting week of the children’s summer programme for Belvoir Cricket and Countryside Trust where up to a 100 children per day get involved in fun activities.
By working closely with schools Belvoir Cricket and Countryside Trust are able to offer children the opportunity to participate in country activities including learning about birds of prey, bug hunting and meeting the beekeeper and shepherds.
Oakland Foundation’s Grants Co-ordinator Debbie Roberts said: “It was obvious that the children were loving being outdoors and in the photo head coach and former professional cricketer Darren Bicknell was teaching groups all about the skills involved in playing cricket.”
Debbie joined the children in the sessions, but she said it became very clear that cricket was not the game for her.
Well done for taking part Debbie!
